How it works

A record that starts with the artist and only ever grows.

An artwork's history begins the moment the artist records it, and from there it's only ever added to. The certificate is a snapshot of that history — and anyone can check one with a quick scan, no account required.

  1. 01

    Register the work

The artist adds the work — its title, year, materials, and photos. This becomes the first entry in its history.

  2. 02

    Get the certificate

We create a certificate with its own QR code and a digital fingerprint of the image, so the work can always be matched back to the original.

  3. 03

    Add to the story

Exhibitions, sales, loans, and new owners get added over time. The people involved can confirm them, which makes each entry stronger.

  4. 04

    Anyone can check it

A quick scan confirms the certificate is genuine — no account, and no need to trust us to take our word for it.

How a work is recorded

Three simple layers: the work, the edition, the piece.

A certificate and its history are attached to the actual piece— the physical object that hangs on a wall or changes hands. Keeping it this simple means the same approach works whether it's a one-off painting today or a numbered print tomorrow.

And because every history has to begin with a living artist making the work, there's no way to register antiquities or looted objects here. That's built into how the system works, on purpose.

The work

The artwork itself and who made it. A work can have more than one artist, and everyone involved is credited on the certificate.

The edition

For prints and other numbered works: the edition size, the numbering, and any artist's proofs — handled honestly.

The piece

The actual physical object that hangs on a wall or changes hands. The certificate and history live here — which keeps everything simple.

Honest about how sure we are

Not everything is equally proven — so we never pretend it is.

Every entry in a history shows how well it's backed up: who confirmed it, and how. That label is always visible — never hidden.

Confirmed by both sides

Both parties agreed it happened — the artist and the venue, or the buyer and the seller — and we've checked who they are. This is the strongest kind of entry.

Confirmed by one side

One of the people involved confirmed it, in the app or through a secure one-time link sent by email, text, or WhatsApp.

Noted by the owner

The record's owner added it without anyone else confirming yet. It still counts — just with less weight — and it's clearly shown as exactly that.

A deliberate choice

No blockchain. No tokens. No wallet.

You don't need any of the crypto complexity to get real trust. Behind the scenes, each record is sealed with a secure digital signature and checked against an independent, public timestamp every day. If anyone ever tried to change history, it would show — and that includes us.
